Tracey O'Connell

Law Point
Lawyer / GDPR expert
Tracey has over 20 years experience in the legal industry. She has worked for firms of all sizes and most notably she worked for one of the UK’s top law firms as a contracts solicitor.  It was Tracey’s pre-law experience in business, together with her time with some of the UK’s largest law firms, that made her think about bringing these two areas of expertise together to form Lawpoint. Tracey took the bold decision to relinquish her title as a solicitor, hand in her shiny badge and set up a niche commercial contracts business where she could focus much more on adding commercial and legal value to client’s businesses rather than the “traditional approach” to legal advice. She has advised in-house lawyers, the directors of PLCs and international companies, and business people in diverse sectors, from manufacturing and retail to engineering and technology, banking, telecommunications and, yes, a premier league football club. Tracey has also worked as the in-house solicitor for several companies including a major UK exhibition company and a software house. Before starting her legal career she spent time as a troubleshooter, analysing and integrating the operational processes of businesses. Tracey enjoys running and the odd glass or two of Prosecco, but never at the same time!
